This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Tufnell Park Man and Van to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. While our own operations are relatively straightforward and directly managed, we rely on a network of suppliers for vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms, storage facilities and occasional subcontracted labour.

We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at multiple tiers of the supply chain, including manufacturing, logistics and labour provision. We are committed to identifying and addressing these risks, regardless of the size or geographic location of the supplier.

Supplier Standards and Due Diligence

All new suppliers and regular subcontractors are assessed against our ethical standards before we enter into or renew contracts. We inform them of our zero-tolerance stance and our expectations regarding labour rights, working conditions and compliance with applicable modern slavery legislation.

Where appropriate, we require written confirmation that suppliers have their own modern slavery policies, conduct proper right-to-work checks, and ensure fair pay and safe working conditions for all workers involved in delivering goods or services to us.

Supplier Audits and Ongoing Monitoring

To support our commitment, we conduct proportionate audits of higher-risk suppliers and service providers. These audits may include requests for documentary evidence, site visits where feasible, and discussions regarding workforce recruitment, training and grievance mechanisms.

If any non-compliance or area of concern is identified, we work with the supplier to agree an action plan and clear timeframes for improvement. Where serious or repeated breaches occur, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.

Training, Awareness and Responsibilities

Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and supervision of subcontractors, receive guidance on identifying signs of modern slavery and escalating concerns. We encourage a questioning mindset when reviewing new partners, unusual working arrangements or pricing that appears inconsistent with fair labour costs.

Managers are responsible for promoting awareness of this Statement and for ensuring that modern slavery considerations are integrated into everyday operational decisions. All staff are reminded that compliance with this policy is a condition of their ongoing engagement with Tufnell Park Man and Van.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We are committed to providing safe and accessible reporting channels for anyone who wishes to raise a concern about modern slavery, whether within our own business or within our supply chain. Concerns can be raised verbally or in writing to any member of management, who must treat the matter seriously and in confidence so far as is reasonably possible.

No individual will suffer retaliation, disadvantage or dismissal for reporting a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. All reports will be assessed promptly and, where appropriate, investigated or escalated to senior leadership for further action.
